Splintr isn't a platform — it's software you install on your own server. You control your data, your rules, and who can join. Servers talk to each other through federation, so your users can connect with people on other Splintr servers without needing accounts everywhere.

Extend with plugins

Federation, not centralization
There's no central authority. Every Splintr server is independent, and servers communicate through signed, encrypted federation requests. If you don't like how a server is run, move to another one or start your own. Learn more about federation.
